Music has been known as the universal language and there is a reason for that. People learn to appreciate songs from different places even if they do not understand the words the words in the song. People are also able to relate to the emotions of music even if there are no words to the melody. There have been a lot of great musicians that have existed over the years and one of the most famous musical bands that are considered as Gods of music today it The Beatles. There are also new artists that have come out at present with their eccentric style and one example is Lady Gaga. These artists are from different ends of the spectrum and yet they play music all the same. Let’s take a look at the evolution of music and notice the good and bad as time went on.
The Beatles was a group of musicians who played together for a very long time. Just when they were starting, they were able to book a place where they would play for hours the whole summer and this gave them the experience that they needed to become better musicians. Back in the day you really hard to learn how to sing and play the instruments to be considered good. The Beatles worked their asses off to be able to master their instruments and give the crowd a good time which made them great musicians. Lady Gaga on the other hand rose to fame because of doing something that is totally different from the norm. She was able to set herself apart from the normal pop and love songs that female artists made and this is what made her popular. She was willing to do anything to gain the fame and recognition that she wanted which is not all good because she even has a song about Judas. Her voice is not as good as other artists and to make up for that, she barely wears anything on stage to entertain people which makes her less of a musician.
Another difference in music over the years is the technology. The only way to become recognized back in the day was to sing really well because all the singer would have is the microphone. Today, people who can’t even sing are able to make their own albums thanks to auto tune features and very advanced technology that can alter a person’s voice. This means that back in the day, most singers were more capable than the singers that we have today. Though there are exceptionally good singers today, there are some that only have their bodies and their appeal to attract fans which was not the case years ago. Singers would sing to gain fans and they would work hard when they are not good enough and not resort to editing of the music to make the album sound good.
Today, there are so many albums that are released that does not sound like anything when an artist performs it live because of editing. People who watched artists perform decades ago would really love the performance because of the great music that resulted from hard work. There are very few artists today who can perform as well or even better as they do on their albums.
